It has warmed up to 60'F already here in Minnesota. My vtg. 50's Stetson Stratoliner (pine green) rode on top of my head when Tris, Tio (PWD dogs) and I took our walk this morning. The dogs made no hat comments. Pine green is an official Crayola color (since 1949) that is almost this exact felt shade. I had my nephews and neice match the Crayola crayon to the felt yesterday.

Thanks Tom, Perry, Manfred, B'man

Lovely Dobbs Alan

MichaelShane: I really like the look of that Stetson.

Lefty: That really worked out well. I would have bought it right off if the seller had photos like yours. Beautiful hat.

DJH: Another beautiful panama.

For today: Portis Tissue weight

Thanks Alan. It is fun to be able to wear my felt hats this cooler summer. A big nod to your hats this week. The light weight felted hats you have look light enough to float away. Yesterdays and the recent blue one are truly stunners.

D.G; Great shots of thin ribbons. You look good with the dimensions of both hats. The beer looks delicious.

Case; I tip my hat to you - the variety of hats you wear all look natural on your noggin. Thanks for sharing the pics of the hats worn in their natural enviornment.

MichaelShane; Great pic. Nothing like a fancy accessory with a bark to accent a hat.

Lefty: Dogone that is a fine hat. You and the photo shopped morphed image of you is clever.:D

DJH: Sir you, Lefty and Al have panama collections that I drool thinking about. Another GREAT hat, by the pic, joins the hat pack at your house. Congrats.

Apologies to the many posters I have not called out. I enjoyed seeing all of your pics. The amount of "everyday" posters has increased and I am enjoying opening the thread to see the clever new pics each day.

Nod of the head, Eric -

Thanks Perry. Packing to haul Lily off to college today so thinking a flat hat is going to be best. I'm hoping for the chance to meet up with a few Buckeye lounge friends over the next four years and see some great hats in person.

Best wishes for ALL the new beginnings; School, Military, and all the people you love! I can't wait until tomorrow... the hats get better and better here every day.

From our cabin, a Gary White (Custom Hatter) in Buffalo, a chocolate Cav. edge w/ 2-1/8" brim, vintage ribbon. Finally catching up on some reading...

Good afternoon Gents! All you guys are looking great today as usual! Nothing but classy folks and classy fedoras in the Lounge! I posted this in another thread but I'll post it here as well....

I did an ok decent job the other day reshaping and stretching an old converted Resistol 4X Cowboy hat to something of an Indy fedora. So I thought I'd try my luck with a cheap DP wool Indy hat. I wet it down real good and stretched it over a paint can to try and get some of the taper out of the crown...I then put something a Indy style crease in the crown with a Center Dent and shaped the brim to more of a fedora brim...Not sure how well cheap wools will hold their shape, but, I wanted to practice some....anyway, here's some pics. It's still on my front porch air drying. The crown height at the front is 4 inches to 3 3/4 inches to the back. The open crown on this hat wasn't that tall to begin with. The brim width is 2 3/8 inches....It looks promising so far. I just hope it holds its shape....

Despite the clouds out here by the ocean, it's actually a warm day here in SF. I'm wearing my Supernatural Milan in front of the SFSU library, holding the reciept for my MA thesis, which completes my masters degree!

Thanks for the comments on my Borsalino and The Newtster from yesterday guys.

Jeff, I'll send you a PM about my Optimo experience when I get a chance.

Another great hat day today, some great stuff.

Multi-hat day for me, not the greatest photos I'm afraid.

Anyway, starting with my ArtLite Silverbelly for Fawcett Friday, then Newt at The Royal/Optimo, finally Akubra Tablelands.
