Eric, let me be the first to welcome you back. It's good to see you here again after all you've been through. I'm not sure what your injuries were, but having broken my pelvis twice (competitive bicycling) I have some idea how good it feels to ditch the crutches and cane. I look forward to seeing all those fantastic hats of yours again.

Hey thanks Jeff, G.Durand, and Rogera. It is nice to be back.

G.durand, ouch jumps to mind when you speak of the hip injury. I too competitive cycled and injuries seemed to occur with some frequency. I am glad that I focused on point to point, vs. criterium, as they had many more injuries. I do miss the training rides.

Oh boy the injuries. It seems trite to speak of them now as I am getting better much quicker than orginally expected. (Short list: I fractured my hip, femur, 2 fingers, 2 ribs, and nose. Bruising/small lacerations ofa couple of internal organs and lots of outside tissue bruising. I did loose 3 teeth. ) The embarasing tuth is I have injured most of the skeletal parts before. It was new for me to injure them all in one swift blow (ouch).)

On to hat dscussions! I have been purusing the months posts and boy oh boy great pics abound.

Best, Eric -

Hey Eric, I have been out of commission a couple of months myself. Didn't know of your misfortune until now.

Good to hear you are healing quickly. Great looking pair of VSs.....

A vintage cane might be a nice touch.

Good looking hat Manfred and a beautiful part of the Italy. My wife lived in Desenzano del Garda, at the southern end of Lake Garda.

Love the Parabuntal, Manfred - looks as though you have picked a great place for your vacation.

Hey Andy, all this black hat chat of late inspired me to dust off (not quite as well as I might have, looking at the pic) my Biltmore OR style this morning.

Back on the hook on the wall now though - straw hat weather again today.

I like your Borsalino, by the way.

Manfred - the Parabuntal looks really good. Nice street shot too. Enjoy the vacation.

Andy - I like that Borsalino

David - I don't think I've seen you in that Biltmore before - looks good.

-------------------------------

First proper wear of the Campdraft Bluegrass. I'm still a little uncomfortable with the brim width - I certainly wouldn't want to wider.

First attempt at anything other than a simple centre bash:

Good morning from Minnesota, USA this morning. Our 62'F temps, dark skies with periodic hard rain make it a quiet Sunday. I am out and about in my VS Wanderer in dove.

Mike, Andy, BR, David, Richard, thanks for the nice comments. I really appreciate them.

Mike, gladly. My last visit in Italy is about 30 years ago. Italy and the people around here in italy are super as ever!
Andy and David, you're right. It's indeed a great and sunny place! And I could see some guys today, wearing straw hats!
BR, the world is small, nice to hear that your wife lived in Desenzano del Garda. It's near by me and a wonderful City too! Regards from Italy to your Wife, BR.

Andy, that looks really sharp with all the accessory around the hat. A good choice your Borsalino!

David, sharp Biltmore, a rare black hat on your head!

Richard, great to see a wider brimmed hat on you. The dimensions looks just right on you. Enjoy it!

Eric, wonderful shot of you and the stunner VS!
