Stetson 7X clear beaver mode-edge homburg

First light for a new iPhone. It appears to capture the wrinkles and blemishes even better than the old one. :eeek:

I hope there is an app for that.

That homburg is awesome Alan. I might go with that color combo (Sahara with burgundy ribbon?) on a custom some time.

I stopped home for lunch today and switched to a Resistol San Antonio for the afternoon.

I had to step out for trip to our hardware store for nuts and bolts for a new womens's gymnastics uneven-bar set. Woo-hoo -- new asset!

Wearing the just arrived Hempstead. A Fedora Lounge member, Ofcoursemyhorse, was kind enough to offer it for sale to me. This is a hat that I really will get some wear out of. The felt is deliciousely light. Great brim stiching. Six rows of stiching with a raw brim - very cool features. It is a cream brown (like a chocolate milk shack) sporting a COOL three ribbon dressing. When time permits I will post more about the hat.

Note: Bright light oversaturates the brown color. The outside pic, while in brite light, is closer to the real color.

Best, Eric -

You wear your hats beautifully, but I am not loving the fedora swooped homburg. My vote is to let the hat do what it was meant to do, with a gentle pull down front and back and nice high sides. But that is just me.

cheers,
Alan

If you want a snap-brim there are plenty, you are flattening the side curl out and bending the transition points--just looks distorted and pinches the front edge curl too. Less than a Homburg and less than a Fedora.

The beauties keep coming, ALL!

Alan, I don't know what else to say other than that has got to be one of the prettiest hats I have ever seen.

AWESOME hats today!!! Just terrific!!!

AnA, that Homburg Hybrid looks great.

Thanks, suited-c!!

An'A, glad to see you still enjoying that Adam, and that the curl is still there. ;)

I'm going Falcon Park for WAR Wednesday. I'm enjoying the extra downward angle I gave it this morning in front, though it meant I had to dome a little in the center of the crown.

The Adam is enjoying the attention, too! :)

I dig the hat today, Jeff. My FPH is a little lower in the front, too. It gives the front crown profile a little fuller look.

AnA, that lid is insanely cool!

Kind words, Monte. Thank you for the compliment!

A'n'A, I’ll continue with the Adam theme today with a Long by Adam, Longroyal Quality.

Nice one, Tango! Great hat.

AnA, that hommie conversion looks terrific, I wouldn't change a thing.

Thanks, scooter. I won't make any more changes to it. I really like your Worth & Worth!! :yo:

Alan, I feel the same way about my hats. However, I've been searching for a chocolate brown fedora lately, and nothing has turned up that made me jump. The homburg was offered up for a great price and I decided to give it a try. I'm not sure the homburg "look" fits me well at this time, so I may get another down the road and keep it untouched. Until then, I will admire your sweet Stetson 7XCB!! :thumb:

AnA, the more I see him, the better he looks!

You are a gentleman of many compliments, Manfred. I am humbled by your kindness. Thank you so much!! And that's a handsome velour you're wearing. I'm sure it didn't look as good in the '50s as you make it look today!! :yo:

...still admiring...

Robert, you keep bringing out (and buying up :boink: ) the finest hats!!

Awesome hat, case! The Resistol finishes are done really well.

Eric, the Hempstead is a beautiful hat. :faint: With those features, it can be shown off at least once a day! I'm in awe of the ribbon. Just beautiful.

Thank you for the comments. I've handled a number of 7X CBs - this is the earliest and the most unusual. It has also been around the block, likely undergoing some renovation prior to its recent visit to Optimo for R&R. Clay-like, very smooth but also quite soft with a finish that recalls ultra-suede. I thought it might pair well with this vintage Lanvin ultra suede sport coat. A better shirt would help.

No, I get it. I do appreciate hats as they're made, and I do understand that I am making the hat do something it wasn't intended to do. :pout:

A fellow lounger helped me find this hat, so I hope I didn't offend his efforts by changing it. Since I appreciate authenticity I will consider the nature of a homburg if I ever get another down the road. You and Alan have superb hat collections ranging in many styles, and I value your comments. Cheers. :)
