Josh, you are a talented guy with a discerning eye for hat style... fantastic work.

+1, Josh! Way to go; you're quite the visionary when it comes to conversions. Bravo. :eusa_clap:

A&A - I bet you are turning some heads at work with these fedoras. You wear this flat flange tall crown style beautifully.

It's a small office. :) Sometimes in our Monday morning sales meetings I'll have my hat sitting on the conference room table and the owner picks it up and looks at it from all angles. I keep telling him he should get one, but he doesn't think it would look good on him.

...and by the way, that Borso is beautiful!! Nice brim and bound edge; the color is superb. :thumb:

David, that is such a nice 7X. How tall do you have the crown on that hat?

Thanks Alan. The crown is about 5.25 ins as creased - 5.75 open crown. The arms length phone photo makes it look taller. Pretty good proportions I think. Nice Borsalino for you today.

David: Your 7XCB is grand! These days it is dark when I leave the house in the morning and when I get back home in the evening. Thanks for your very nice comments!

Thanks, Al. Not sure I'm liking these short days.

David, your Cavanagh in olive, looks very good on you! Nice shape. Sharp thin ribbon 7x too.

Thank you, Manfred.

AnA - I like your 15/20 style. I agree about Eric's look today. A Morgan would be perfect, I'd say!

Josh - fantastic job on converting the hat. I much prefer the "after" version.

Jeff
- 80 degrees? Would have liked that here today!

Steve - the Pallas is very cool.

CC - nice Lee. Brim down for me!

Alive'n'Amplified: I quite like your Saks Fifth Avenue. Looks terrific! Thanks for the nod on my post, it is very kind of you.

Manfred: Thank you for your kind words, my friend. Glad you enjoyed the pics!

Eric: Strangely warm mid-October day today here in Minnesota. Great choice in that nice cap and kudos for wearing protective eyewear! :nerd:

Josh: Excellent conversion, and what a lovely felt and ribbon color combination!

Alan: Positively natty in that Natalsca! Interesting, the figure of a dancer leaps out at me when I look at your wisteria. ;)

Jeff: Your beautiful Montecristi already looks like a cherished heirloom! Many thanks for your kind comments. I do love my Beaver Belly!

Alex: Much obliged. Bravo on your Burgundy beauty! Really nice contrasting edge binding.

Steve: Fantastic side creases on your Pallas.

casechopper: Nice Lee. For me, David's studied opinion notwithstanding, it is brim up given the hat's dimensions.

You always have beautiful light in your photos, BJ.

If it was black and white, it would be film noir.

By all means BJ, break in that black one. I have one too, been waiting for the cooler weather.

BJ - I've been eyeing brown fedoras lately. I don't own one as nice as yours, yet! :)

B.J, nice looking hat and as Alan said, wonderful light in your photos.

Thanks for the comments fellows, I hope I didn't miss anyone. :yo:

Been wearing the black Fed IV around. I sort of feel bad posting this poor pic, but I’ve had a hard time getting a decent one to turn out with the black while wearing it. At 2 3/8”, it’s currently the widest brim I have in wearable condition and it feels huge. I don’t plan on trimming it again though.

PS: Received word that my new cap from Hat People is in transit.

Wearing my new Tumwater with Camel felt and Gunstock ribbon

Wed17_1.jpg

The face I'm pulling in the first photo is a bit embarrassing but I thought it was a great snapshot of the hat. Two things are obvious, one is that I'm on my way to work and none to happy at the prospect. The other is that I really, really need a cup of coffee just now.

Same proportions as my previous Tumwater but this time I asked TonyB to "cheat" the size just on the small side of 7-3/4" so the hat would ride a bit higher on my head. After settling in over the first few days of wear it is now Just Right!
