Great hats everyone. I only have my phone here today so won't comment on them individually.

I'm waiting for the family, Em is working at Drexel Graduation this afternoon (she finished her Freshman year yesterday). Tonigh we are going to my favorite Philly restaurant, the Victor Cafe, for Fathers Day treat.

For this afternoon, I'm wearing my Disney milan.

Che and SBG, A couple of nice looking, well coordinated milans. Those are hats that will probably get a lot of use this summer.

Wolfen, Good looking summer lid. I don't believe that I've ever seen a bamboo hat before.

I'm liking your Milans, I like the color combo on that one.

Thanks, Javier. I'm a Milan kind of guy.
I would like a few more, but, they are getting too high priced for me right now. :eek:hwell:

So, I'll just have to enjoy the one's I have. And, the photos of other lounger's Milans. :D

Pushing 90 degrees today but wanted to sweat in my newly acquired Resistol San Antonio Beaver 35, so threw on the raw silk jacket for dinner at Cyndie's. She approved.

Cheers! KC

An absolutely marvelous Milan day yesterday, gentlemen. It does not get any better than that, and I cannot recall another day with so many Milans worn with such panache!

Carl: Thank you. It was sad indeed, but we look forward to next year, and another few decades of new memories...

Jeff: Thanks! You are absolutely right. We are devastated of course with Basil's retirement, and Sarah's departure/leave of absence, but can only struggle with this coming year of construction and change and hope that the 2013-2014 season will bring with it another era of glorious music making in a magnificent hall.

Fantastic Dobbs, albeit a bit on the dark side in the photo to appreciate its rich color. Tough squirrels you have in SD!

Manfred: Thank you, my friend. You are always much too kind! Glad you enjoyed the photos although I am afraid there is not much variety to my choice of lids during the Summer. lol

Mike: Quite an exceptional Playboy. Outstanding!

Che: Love your Milan! Wonderful straw color complemented by the bold ribbon/bow, and you wear it so well with the brim up. Thank you for the kind words as well.

JAVIER: Thank you, but where was your Milan yesterday?

Eric: Fantastic Milan! Did you enhance the pinch?

I really appreciate your kind comments, and hearing of your own memories at Orchestra Hall. Thank you for taking the time to reflect and share your stories. We really are fortunate to have such a phenomenal acoustical gem here in Minnesota, as well as the world-class ensemble to do it justice.

Wolfen: Nice looking lid.

David: You wear that Disney Milan well, it looks great on you, and the b&w image really highlights the beautiful texture of the straw weave. Must be nice to have Amelia back home for the Summer. You are beaming with joy!

Jared: That Resistol Milan of yours has seen a lot of action, and it always looks superb on you.

Mystic: You were born to wear those Milans! Outstanding!

KC: Very nice ensemble.

More Farewells...

Saturday morning dawned with an incessant rain that seemed to usher in the end of an era in St. Paul.

Watching the falling raindrops from our table at Meritage, in the historic Hamm Building in St. Paul. I am afraid my choice of hats is rather lacking in variety.

Stopping by the venerable Nakashian-O'Neil one last time, on the very last day of business for this 106 year old institution, a fixture in the Hamm Building.

With the untimely passing of Danny O'Neil this past Christmas Eve, a direct connection to the 'Golden Age' of old St. Paul was lost, and so ends an era.

The Sun eventually always comes out, as it did later in the afternoon. Landmark Center in the distance.

The optimism and vibrant energy of Summer...and art shows in Minnesota. With the rain having finally stopped for the day, we eagerly made our way over to the Saint Anthony Falls area of Minneapolis for the Stone Arch Bridge Festival, which for the preceding 17 years was known as the Stone Arch Festival Of The Arts. A common theme of loss, transition, and rebirth. At the foot of the 1885 Pillsbury A Mill, for a time the largest flour mill in the world.

Happy in the Sun, immersed in familiar sights, sounds and smells. Every year when we make our rounds of our local art fairs and festivals in the Summer I recall fondly the wonderful memories of the past. They are like snap-shots of our life album.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY, Gentlemen!!!

Hatted with a Panama Bob semi this morning. Great hat and geat price for these gems. :eusa_clap

IMG1785-M.jpg

It could be a perfect vented hat for a hot morning dog walk. Not perfect this morning. My challenge this morning is more than the hat can help me with. Challenge - Mosquitoes are out in droves. Almost no wind allows the little annoying bugs to zero in and efficiently hunt it's prey. The vented hat let the little devils into the crown. That was most annoying. Even if they really can not bite my scalp, the sound and the feeling of the things lighting on my skin are totally vexatious. Not the hats fault.

I am learning about the warmer weather hats. Today my learning involved a couple frantic moments of swinging the hat about to discourage the bugs.

Best, Eric -
