That does it! No more hats until I find a Green one like that!

By the way, does anyone want to buy a bridge in Brooklyn?

Looks to me very much like a style called "The Wanderer" -- which was essentially a Playboy with narrow edge binding:

THAT looks as much like my hat as any reference I've seen. "The Wanderer". I like that. Thanks very much for showing me that. I put a "Help me ID my hat" thread a while back, but this is the best answer yet. Yeah, the edge binding is the thinnest of any of my hats and I really like that about it. Real refined.

How old's that royal stetson? It looks pretty new.

You mean the tan one that we think is "The Wanderer", right? Yeah, I don't think it's very old. Probably 60s. Narrow, black leather sweatband, glued in liner...

This hat's a little on the rough side compared to a lot of my others but it came in handy yesterday in a downpour which put five inches of rain on the ground in a couple hours.

Today it was one of my Adam Panama straws (The "Executive"). This one has a gauze liner inside with the satin portion being reserved for the top piece where the logo resides.

Came with a cool old box and a couple extra ribbons!

And THANKS gents for all the kind comments. I've had the 'fever' for a while and am just getting around to showing some of what I've accumulated. If you enjoy my hats even half as much as I've been enjoying seeing yours over the last few months, I'll know you're having a good time!

^Your style looks like 1930's archeologist to me, and I don't mean the Jones person. I really like it.

Thanks, that's nice.

:eek:fftopic: Are you aware that several of us are coming to Memphis August 1st? Check the "Events" thread and drop by the Peabody and meet up with us!

I bought my first harmonica (harp) on Beale Street. And then here in Florida I had the benefit of one of the best players/teachers around to learn from. I'm hoping to sit in with some bands on my return trip. My girlfriend and I are going to be there from July 31 through Aug 3.

All the best!

Wore my straw western to Wild Adventures in Valdosta today. It withstood the waterpark and a downpour that shut down the park. I can't even say how nice it is to have your own shade everywhere you go!:D
