I've been favoring my Bellamey (yes they spell it this way in the lining!) Homburg this weekend. Above is an in between moment which was the result of a whim I seem to have every winter. My face being short and somewhat round, I couldn't really live with that 'stache and eliminated it altogether. Now, in order not to be confused with/ for my sister, I think I'm going back to full beard. We'll see...

Unfortunately, I don't have a pic handy, but today, as my brother in law and I were exiting a local casino (he gambles, I do not), we walked abreast of a gentleman with a nice fur felt fedora. I commented on what a nice hat it was, and inquired what the gent was wearing. He informed me that it was "very old hat" and doffed it to show me that it was an old Stetson Sovereign, whereupon I doffed my own hat to show him that it was, in fact, a very old Stetson Sovereign as well. My brother in law informed him that he should see all the hats I had at home, each of which was beautiful.

Thanks Steve, Scottyrocks, Rodkins. If I ever need to downsize my collection, I think that Bellamey Burg would be a priority keeper.

Nice whippet, Rodkins! Ale-- was that Optimo one of those that Grant "happened to have in your size?" That color combo is very classy and the finish looks velveteen.

Indeed. He had made it specially for his trunk show in NYC and since I was his last appointment--no one else to show it to-- and it was my size, he sold it to me. It's now actually on their website. Laguna blue 100% Beaver.

I have to admit, Ale, I've been sort of coveting that hat all day! Not only is it an example of great artistry and quality materials, but it seems extremely wearable in almost any situation-- not an easy balance to achieve.

Thank you, Jeff. You're right, the quality and artistry of this hat are superb. Graham's new 100% beavers are amazing. As you say, this one goes well with pretty much any outfit, from casual to dressy, it seems to adapt and highlight either option :D

It's really a great hat, D. custom made for him, or just happens to fit?

Enjoyed my Dobbs Guild edge today. I'm still mesmerized by the felt on this one. Just sublime. I need to wear it more. Believe it or not, the brim is only 2 inches.
