Wearing my Optimo Dillinger today on the back of my head, which I know is considered blasphemy by some here, but oh well ;)

Also; experimenting with facial hair for no-shave November.
The look works, and I love that hat! It's a tempting style for my next one...

I don't consider it anything of the sort ... :yo:

Yes, works really well!

I'll wear a pork pie like that occasionally. It definitely works for you.

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen! I actually usually wear stingies back like this. With the Optimo, I've mostly been wearing it 'proper' but felt like mixing it up a little bit today.

I think it's considered blasphemy by some, probably because they don't feel that they can pull it off. You make it look good, jlee. I would probably scare you all away wearing a hat that far back. works for you, though.

I always seem to post late. A couple of months ago I found a badly misshapen, beat up 3X beaver stetson western hat for $4 at a local thrift shop. It was filthy, it had gobs of goo on it, it had a truly ghastly glued on hatband, yet is was sound...no mothing, no holes. So I picked it up in order to try out all the hat cleaning and fixing tips I have picked up from this absolutely terrific forum. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun doing it. The hat turned out great, except for some discolouration on the front brim that I just couldn't get rid of. Then, having no need for a western, I trimmed an inch off the brim, sewed on a new grosgrain hatband and re-creased the crown to a teardrop.

It has become my go-to hat if rain is threatening. It's almost impervious to rain...a great hat. Anyway, that's what I wore for my evening walk tonight. It did indeed rain...here I am, a little disgruntled, after my return.

David, that's a super shot. Gritty, serious, urban(e), and definitely well-hatted. If I were a mugger, I'd find a different alley.

Ha ha - thanks Randall :D

I'm in serious Portis mode at the moment.

This evening our local hockey team had a Movember event so all our team from the office went along. I was wearing my other Portis, the Super-Lux, here with my lovely wife Caren.

My Movember Mo might be in need of improvement, but the hat is very nice!

Caren and I were antiquing today:

Feeling pithy

Nice Adam hommie

Sad old Stetson campaign hat with The Fray sweatband - they wanted $100 for this one!

Didn't buy any of these.

You know it might be just the fact that I've got a moustache, but I think you look pretty sharp with that mo, David (from NH). I did the Movember thing with a bunch of guys at work just before I retired...a lot of fun and we raised a good deal of money. I had to shave my normal moustache off initially (that raised quite a bit of dough itself!).

Are you thinking of keeping the 'stache after Movember is over?

Aureliano - fun times indeed. Super mild day today as well, so very enjoyable.

David (from North of the Border) - thanks! Not sure on the Mo yet. My original plan was to shave on December 1st, but I seem to be getting used to it now. I've also had quite a few encouraging comments as well.

The Lark - well cool; I like it. Like your coat as well.

Oh, here's another quicky self portrait from today, to offset The Lark's classy photo :D:D
