Alright...who is this mysterious They? I hear about 'em all the time. Frankly I don't like it. If you haven't got a proper name you just keep your opinion to yourself.

30 years in the making... it's all aggregate concrete.

We really have to start meeting like this.
I think I could visit half of the Fedora Lounge en route from Buffalo to Chicago.
It was a pleasure to meet Robert in person... and to touch that Dobbs 100.
Super shots Alan! And Detroit is nearly enroute for you I think. If you made it to the area, I think I'd have you try on the Beret (I think it might convince you it's a look you can pull off ;)).

Thanks T Rick and Randooch.

In the old days we always traveled to Chicago through Canada and Michigan. It was supposed to be shorter, though now the GPS systems don't track it that way. We could certainly make it work.

Here's a shot of my great grandfather in the Catskills... 1940s or early 50s... all his male children (the painters and the doctors) wore berets:

I love 'em... bought a new one from Daan recently. They just have to wait their turn in the hat rotation!

That's a beautiful hat David. I can't help but think that a neutral or black ribbon would be more versatile, but that's why we have a collection to select from.
cheers,
Alan

That is true Alan. My next Panama is having a burgundy coloured ribbon so I'm thinking that will be more versatile.

Not as stylish as the rest of you folk, but surprising what a sports jacket can do for a casual outfit. Cap is my brown, black and green, birdseye weave, hat people cap. It's the worst shaped of my three hat people caps, but is the most comfortable, and I think actually works as a contrast to the stiffness of the jacket. What do you think?

Which cut is that? The brown black and green they show on their site is one I am thinking of ordering (not sure if it is the birds eye weave you are referring to or if yours is something different than they show). I like the look of that color combo.

Not one for dressing "up" a lot either myself, but a good hat certainly does compliment some nice clothes.

Cool photo of your g-grand father , but I have to be honest Alan... the fedoras look best on you I think.
And you have some fine ones!
Well, he certainly does wear them well (and your closing is maybe the understatement of the year!). But the Beret does work too.
