very nice Homburg, rlk. How wide is that brim? On my monitor it actually appears dark brown, even oxblood!

DJH-- I'll second Alan's comment. That tall crown look really works on you.

I've been wearing my dark chocolate Knudsen Bat Masterson for the past several days:

Wow... what fantastic hats today - Zetwal, Douglas, Bowlerman... great stuff!

RLK's Dobbs makes my pulse quicken, though. Two tones on a flat brimmed unpinched homburg does that to me every time.

I was hoping for more men's hats in the royal wedding this morning.

I wore my pre-war Vanzina today... a pleasure to get reacquainted with this old friend.

it has those basting stitches that Josh pointed out yesterday across the top of the ribbon
and at the bow as well. I expect these were to be removed at sale.
This hat has no owners monogram.

Thank you for the kind words. Wonderful hat on a gorgeous day, David. What color will your new Tumwater be?

I'm not sure what Tony calls the colour, but it's a very light grey.

Love your tall crown hats... great look for you.

Thanks Alan and Bowlerman. It's funny, when I first got interested in hats, I was scared of tall crowns - I remember asking Mr Fawcett if he could make me a very low crown hat - way less than 5 inches.

He patiently explained in an email, that he could, but my head would hit the inside of the hat so not a good idea.

As it turns out, I really like wearing my taller crown hats - who would have thought? :D

I took a detour through Forest Lawn this morning. No time to do photographic justice
to this wonderful 19th Century city cemetery, but I did stop for a few pictures at the
Firemen's monument. I wore my early Vanzina - still very much alive after almost
80 years.

The Lounge ought to break out a "highlights of photos" thread every month to showcase some of the better hats worn here. It would be useful for people cruising the site to quickly get new looks--really there is something for everyone here--so they can decide if they like fedoras, and if so, what style. A newbie might take years to glimpse the full range of available styles without a central thread, but with the thread, could quickly get the picture of all the possibilities. Hat companies also might get a better picture of the market, and of how vintage hats as well as customs fit into the range of things available, which may in turn influence the styles they choose to design and release. I do not mean that we should just post directions to whatever whatever thread, and force the viewers to slog through all of that. That's just annoying. A concentrated thread of the Lounge's best photos would be a true service, at least in my opinion.
