Neophyte, I'm loving that hat.

Thanks so much. I've actually deepened the dents and manipulated the factory bash into a somewhat less-tapered shape. I love it now!

However, this is the hat I'm wearing today, my old Akubra Squatter in willow green, with a DIY trim-job lol. I didn't really like this hat, and found it under my bed this morning, really ratty-lookin'. However, a quick brush-over and I realized that it looks and fits better than my CampDraft, doubtless due to the haircut I recieved yesterday (I got it cut really, really short).

The squatter looks very nice. I like it more than the others.

I like the Squatter too, but now that I trimmed it, it doesn't offer SFS (has to do with the amount of shade it provides, don't ask what it means lol).

My collection of hats is such that my favorite hats provide the most shade (the Lightning Ridge and the Campdraft) and my least favorite (Squatter and FederationIV) provide the least shade.

Regardless, though, the Squatter is probably the best "dress" hat in my collection, and I respect it in that niche. As a general hat (read: protective headwear, style is optional), it doesn't much suit my needs. When I dress up, though, I reach for the Squatter :).

Thanks for the compliment. I'm very glad I pulled this thing out from under my bed lol!

I like the Campdraft on you best, Neo, but the Squatter ranks a close second in my book. You should wear it more often.

I will. That was my first haircut since I joined in April  lol!

Gotta say, though, that the Lightning Ridge is my favorite. It took me a while to get used to the "Bush" style, but I find that it suits my needs, features, and personality quite nicely. Putting that hat on induces "Cheshire Cat" levels of goofy grins lol.

I like the Squatter for it's small brim (I believe I accidently cut it down to 2 3/8''), and there's something "Authoritative" about the Camp Draft that puts a smile on my face whenever I put it on. I believe most Camp Draft owners will agree with me on that as well :).

What I'm actually ecstatic about, though, is that my collection of wearable hats has reached #4, enough hats to actually have to decide which one to wear each day. I can finally stop posting the same hat over and over and over and...well, you get the idea :D.

Resistol San Antonio

Went on a day trip to Micanopy, Florida and then made a stop by Cross Creek's Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historical Site.

Seemed like a great day to debut my latest acquisition, a Resistol San Antonio

I had several "nice hat" comments from the locals, so I guess it's a keeper.

Thanks, Mr. E, Neophyte! I'm quite pleased with the hat. I was going for a sloppy, quick and dirty pinch and crease. The hat just begged for it.

Randy

P.S Now I have Springsteen's Ghost of Tom Joad stuck in my head lol

Theinterchange, that second picture does the hat world justice. Worth framing. Genius idea to take the color out. :eusa_clap

Thanks!

[I'll let you in on a secret regarding the choice to sepia tone it... I looked like Casper in color, for some reason in the bright sunlight, the white around me really took over.]
