Nice showing today on the lid front, gents. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Bart -- that VS looks great.

DJ-go, Mr. E, Herzen -- hats off to the Dads in Hats movement today...;) :eusa_clap

Dan -- some nice lids the last few days. :eusa_clap

Lefty -- In my opinion, there are very few people who can actually make a derby look at home on their noggin, and you seem to be one of them. :eusa_clap I think that derby looks great. I'd be curious to know how you feel wearing it.

Cheers,
JtL

Well, please forgive today's double post. Went to the Arts, Beats & Eats Festival in Royal Oak today, where I was on the lookout for Hats on a Stick, and didn't come away empty-handed...:D Went to take Bodie for a walk this evening, and temps have dropped to the high 50's -- our first real taste of fall weather. So, grabbed my Whiskey VS and Barbour jacket and headed out...

Jimmy, you wear them like we all should. Fantastic lid, as always.

B.J. , as you aptly demostrate, black hats have their place too. Nice outfit, BTW!

Paladin, that's a great ribbon!

Herzen, that fancy ribbon suits the hat very well.

150719541, not a bad beginning for your dear one... she models the hat well.

DGuy, JTL, and the rest, well done!

These are not actually "today" pics, but are new here. I came across them when reorganizing my files.

Some months ago I made a presentation at Laura's school, for a "My dad's (or mom's ;) ) job" activity. I work as a specialist police officer in a Crime Scene Investigation unit. After the presentation, you were given an album where every participant had to fill a couple of pages with his impressions, pics, etc. Laura and me had some photos taken in a Holmes and Watson style (me of course assuming the "sidekick" role... ;) ), as these were well in spirit with the subject, as part of the album material.

The bowler is a modern "Beaver Brand" offering. The deerstalker cap is made by "Countryside Classics".

Thanks. As I step out the door, I still get that feeling of unease I got when I first started wearing hats. I want to touch the brim, look down, etc. A minute or two in, and I'm fine.

At the gas station yesterday, a guy missing 4 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth, buying a 40 and a bottle of what looked to be red 'lectra shave, pulled on his imaginary brim and gave me a "howdy pardner. You really rockin' that hat - you look good." After that, everything was all right.
