I don't look for a day or two and...

Look at all the great hats I've missed! Enough for a calendar or two.

Bud, That is one sharp Mallory!

Aaron, The Kangol looks very good on you.

Bolthead, The Duval is terrific. I may have a small narrow brim or two that you'd look good under.

RBH, I really like the jacket. The Adventurebilt looks great as well.

BrotherBob, What can I say? Shock and awe, brother, shock and awe!

Vintage Betty, I love that photo. The cloche is a beauty.

AirForceIndy, You're looking very western under that Stetson. It's a good look for you.

Deelovely, You do things for that Stylemaster that I never could. Glad I sold mine.

Indycop, You are a blessed man, my friend. :)

Thanks for encouraging my behavior, if only for a handful of Saturdays. I made up for my fashion faux pas by getting up early and making two brass and black lacquered hat racks. All the ones that I found commercially had the hooks too close together.

Next weekend is our last reg. season game against the filthy redskins (FSU) here in Hoggetowne. I think I'll forego the kilt for a black suit, shirt and fedora and an Ancient Angus tie and Fly Plaid. Here's why the Ancient Angus tartan:

The Fly Plaid is the cloth that hangs over one shoulder. Might take the claymore, too, in case I'm waylaid by highwaymen.

... so be gentle:) This is a 8X Stetson cowboy that I found in an antique shop for $5. It belonged to a (I assume) rancher named Allen Tysdale who had his name embossed on the sweatband, and had not been kept up over the years; it was a work hat. The liner had been removed, leaving the glue residue, and the embossing on the sweatband was very faded. Unfortunately, I neglected to take 'before' pics of it, but here are the 'after' shots following a makeover by Brad at Star of the West in Rapid City. He tells the hat is at least 30-35 years old, model unknown, so I just said to put a cattleman's crown on it a'la Open Road. Don't mind the dates on the photos, my camera's a little messed up[huh]

Bed inspection; no bouncing quarters here!

lol lol :rage: :rage: lol lol
Very Funny IndyCop!!! These days, it's just not worth it! My son gets me out of bed at 4:30-5 everyday, got to work, com home and he's been playing on it all afternoon with Mrs. AFIndy. Ah, yes, the days of inspections:rolleyes: Sometimes I long for them, or at least for my wife to experience basic training:)

No hat today, until we go to the park this afernoon. Will post later.

Regards, Andy

Thanks Betty, I bought the blank and built it myself. It has served me well for the past two years. I have 1 more blank and if things ever slow down I plan on building another.

WOW - did you ever post more info about building the hat? I'd be interested...

Mr. Technonut - Is your hat water repellent?

Mr. Douglas - Is there any way to add a pink tone into your ivory hat collection? An understated pink toned blend would look fantastic with your skin tone, and I haven't seen that color on you yet.

Mr. Marty - A very belated thank you for the kind compliments. I was feeling in a patriotic mood, so I appreciate you noticing the color combination as well as the attempt to match the lines of the hat to the lines of the jacket. And, for anyone who cares, the brand is Original Gotham with a Forstmann label stating the suit is 100% wool.

Mr. BrotherBob - I was just in FL a few days ago. Sorry we missed each other!
And oh-so-tempting with the other (brimless) hat you were wearing! And ain't that the truth about those hat racks? Obviously made for baseball caps :rage:

Mr. Indycop - A bevy of fine hats. But you can smile (really). It's your De-lovely wife's birthday!

Mr. Bolthead - Nice hats as always! I'm amazed at that wide ribbon on that Duval. Seems like an unusual pairing...

Mr. RBH - A Fine hat indeed!

Mr. Airforceindy - Nice hat, what a great steal! It's interesting to me that between the photos you changed your shoulder position and the hat brim looks like it's wider/more shallow between photos #2 & #3.

Mrs. DeeLovely - Another great hat! How did you know what your birthday present would be?

Mr. AlanC - Looking great as always!

Mr. Carter - Thank you for the kind words!

It was a very cool morning in Silicon Valley. Lots of fog, and it slowly burned off into a gorgeous hot day.

I'm wearing a wool beret, modern. Maker unknown. And I'm wearing a vintage 1950's wool sweater, part of a skirt set. Sold off the skirt on ebay last year cause it looked ridiculous on me, even if it was an utterly fantastic skirt.
