:eek:fftopic: Not yet, Indycop; they aren't mandatory 'til October 2011. They're expensive as hell, too, so I'm going to bide my time. Maybe I'll get deployed again and get them issued:D Besides, I like my greens. They're comfy, broken in, take the iron well, and I don't look like a strip of half-dried concretelol

Regards, Andy
lol lol lol

Half-dried concrete! That's funny!

Since I'm at 23 years, I doubt I'll have to wear them unless I get deployed. The good thing about being a Reservist, though, is even if they make us wear them, I still get them issued. If they want me to look like I'm wearing curtains from a cheap seaside hotel, they have to pay for it, not me!

BTW, Indycop, are you Prime Beef?

Maybe I had it wrong and you rented the kids for a photo-op. I used to have one of those. Now she's 35. Yikes.

I thought DeeLovely was your wife.

As for the "Bowsalino" pun, it's what you called a hat for your dog.

Okay, maybe whacked is too strong. Get someone to spank you.

I forgot about the dog! Well I didn't forget about him, he is never more than a foot or so away, but him wearing a hat, which he only tried on cause I think its the same one that now belongs to Bolthead! Sorry BH!:eusa_doh: :D
And yes she and the kids are mine, or maybe I belong to them:eek: :D

:eek:fftopic: indycop, that is a quote from the wonderful John Wayne - Maureen O'Hara film, "McClintock" (but I think the picture is from a later film?)

He, of course, follows the line with a punch in the mouth which precipitates the great mudslide brawl scene and climax of the movie

Good stuff, Maynard.

Great look Dman!
Fantasic color on that Dobbs Bud. Is the Binding on the brim fraying or is it just the light?

Marty, I do high end painting and restoration. I have always had a dream of retiring with a little vintage hat store. The type with no sign where people could come in and be treated well, read a magazine,be offered an espresso or a dram of good whiskey while shopping. Staffed by a few craftsmen that know how to speak and are knowlegable about history and the art of hat making. Alas, it is a dream. The laws here and the cost would make it impossible.

Nope, not frayed at all. The binding is a different color than the ribbon. It is just as I found it, that is not to say that nothing has ever been altered on the hat. One of lifes mysteries

Actually, this is how it looked, when I first got the hat, I think it cleaned up very nicely.

Ok, What is prime beef!!??
Whoops! Sorry, IndyCop, that wasn't a come on! :eusa_doh: I meant to address that question to AirForceIndy! Prime Beef (Base Engineer Emergency Force) are Air Force Civil Engineers that specialize in bare base operations, setting up everything necessary to get an airfield up and running from nothing to fully functional in -- what AirForceIndy?-- about 45 minutes? Ok, that's exaggerating, but darn quick. There are also RED HORSE units that specialize in heavy construction, but they generally wear a red hat. AirForceIndy's hat has the CE skill badge on it, but it's black so I thought he might be Prime Beef.

OK, glad we got that cleared up! lol

Thanks RBH, I do like the colors. This hat without a doubt is about as colorful as my hat selections get. I still want a blue hat, so the search continues. I am currently waiting on my most recent find. The dimensions are identical to my big black Borso with the 3 3/8 brim. As for the goatee, its ok, it wont last long I am sure. When we lived outside of Denver, I would grow a beard every winter. It is way to warm here in Texas for a beard, for me anyway.
