Resistol Stagecoach. Not an expensive hat, but I like the style and it was cheap. Has some condition issues.

A Stetson that has some mysteries and is a roll of the dice. 4 inch brim, about 7 inch open crown. This might be a late 40's to early 50's Nutria hat. It has sweatband issues that I can't investigate til I get it to see if the original sweatband is there.

Hey everyone! First post in probably 15 years! Very eagerly awaiting this interesting piece. Guessing it’s from the ‘50s? I was looking for something in the realm of an Open Road or Stratoliner — and preferably in a light brown or silverbelly — when I stumbled onto something more in the realm of a bound-edge Playboy or the seemingly-fabled Wanderer. The crown is 4.75”, and the brim is 2.75”. A spot of verdigris to deal with but otherwise seems in good shape, and if the brownish hue is discoloration from age it’ll match my outerwear all the better for it.

Interestingly, the owner of the menswear store where the hat was originally sold is listed beneath a “Top Hoodlum” on a list of FBI witnesses against a mafia member. Good times!
