Imagine the verbal gymnastics I went through explaining this to my wife. ;)
Actually, she’s a good sport, but she can’t see the need for more than a few hats...silly woman.

Well you just can’t pass up great hats at a good price. Rare enough in my size let alone yours.

Yeh, I think you either have the 'collector's gene" or you don't. My wife has one mountain bike, and is totally happy with that asking 'why do I need a second one'. But she asks that question of me who owns 15 (down from 30). Then we repeat as she only has one fedora......if you can imagine that!

In business, the old saying is; You've gotta spend money to make money. In this case, I guess you have to buy a few hats to get rid of a few!

I’m waiting on my Akubra Sydney open crown to arrive from David Morgan. I ordered it in Regency Fawn. This is my first higher quality hat. I’m looking forward to it’s arrival.

Nice color. Let us know, supposedly this one is softer/thinner/finer than the rest of Akubra's models

I told my wife I was finished with acquisitions until I sold some of the hats I have. I fell off the wagon in early December and bought a Champ featherweight for her, as well as a Selco top hat just because I had no top hats and the price was very nice, even if it is much too big for me.
At 6 AM this morning it happened again. I couldn't watch this Lee water block walk away for $49.99 and $12 shipping with only one bid on it. It's headed my way for $51 after a last two-second bid of $59.99.
The last second bidding is to keep me from bidding up in the heat of the moment.

This one IS my size!

However, I expect I will have some 'splainin' to do, as this one might be difficult to slip into the harem unoticed.

I just ordered this Panizza as a birthday present to me from my wife. I have to wait until March before I can wear it, but ordered early as it was on sale at half price.
I’m off to Australia with a group of kids next month. I just discovered the souvenir shop we take them to is a stockist of Akubra. My wife may be a little upset when I arrive home with another hat before my birthday one even arrives!

I'm currently waiting on a beautiful straw from "Newt of Honolulu," who apparently has a shop in the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. DH pointed it out to me on Ebay in December, but I had other uses for the money at the time, so I've been watching it and biting my nails until I was able to order this week. A hat this nice in a 7 7/8 doesn't come by too often. I'll try and post some pics when it arrives.

The waiting is the hardest part, Bob. Summer's coming!
