YES...too big....thank you Doc for not buying it to Shrink!! It is from the 30's and needed to be taken care of and conserved.

Yes, and then No. Lion Hats predates Beaver Brand by some good many years. They dropped the Lion Hats which morphed into Beaver Brand....The Lion Brand goes back to the turn of the Century (1900) where Beaver Brand was introduced in the 60's.
This hat is from the 30's......I will now have Three Lion Hats...one each from the 30's, 40's and early 50's. This one is NOS, however was not stored well and does have some mothing BUT it still was too old, and too cool to pass up.

This is the latest on my pandanus Vanuatu cowboy hat.

Still some work to tidy it up and get the trimming on. I’m using a black sheen cord which will have brass tips on the ends. (its just pinned at the moment)

This is 9cm brim and 11cm crown from head line to the bottom of the pinch. I think this taller crown will balance with your facial proportions.
