This FS Brummel’s Homburg from Stefan @steur has arrived in the country and should be in my hands in a couple of days. Time for me to discover what all the fuss is about with vintage hats - this being my first. Stefan says mid fifties to early sixties.
Also my first homburg. Hopefully I can find something in my wardrobe to go with it!

Anyone else ever have a similar experience? It’s been in transit from Florida for a month! While I don’t blame the seller I’m thinking of asking to cancel the sale.

I can sympathise, Brent. I have exactly this problem with a couple of shipments from the US. Apparently they don't ship directly to Amsterdam (as I would have expected), but anywhere in continental Europe. Usually they stay in transit for only a day or two and then arrive in Amsterdam to go to customs (or not). However since everything has more or less come to a standstill, I've been waiting for six weeks now. USPS says it's been shipped from Chicago but the Dutch postal services haven't picked it up yet, so the packages are in some sort of purgatory right now. The seller is great about it and offered me a refund, but what good is that going to do me? I much prefer to have the hats. Had the same thing happen to me once before when the Italian postal services decided on an early Christmas and kept a package in transit for over a month december last year. Always happens with the nicest hats. Haven't lost a package yet, so I try not to think about it too much (but I still do!).

I had one about a year ago coming from CA to FL get stuck in limbo for over a month Only showing it leaving its first hub. Seller kept checking on it with USPS with not much luck other than... it should come soon. I stuck with it cause it was a fairly unique hat at a great price. One day after about six weeks the tracking lit up with Jacksonville, Fl. And it arrived a day or so after.

Yes, I've had them get hung up recently.
Two are in limbo in Europe, one from Canada got stuck in California for about two weeks.
You just have to be patient these days.

Managed to pick up a bowler in a fairly rare 7 3/8 (UK) size for £35.10 (approx. $43.40) including shipping!
(Just a Homburg left to find, then I'll have one example of every 'main' hat style! Though obviously one example isn't enough ;)).

Looks good from the outside hopefully, sadly the sweatband might be too far gone and has become detached, shame as it looks like quite a nice band! I'm hoping my Dad and I's combined amateur sewing experience might be enough to be able to sew a new one in, as I'm not aware of any companies that do that in my area of the country in this day and age :(. Also, no fancy bowler lining sadly!

Interesting that it was originally from a hatter in Liverpool, that's not too far away from me.

I spoke with Mike at "Northwest Hats" today and finished up the details on my "Indy Jones" hat. 100% beaver, 7 1/4 Long Oval and "Last Crusade" pinch and styling. Now the hard part.............................is it here yet?
Congrats and definitely post pics! I'm in the queue for a Penman Raiders. If everything is still on track I should be hearing from him sometime next month.

Look at this garbage. I shipped a cap on April 24th.

It arrived in San Francisco the next day on April 25th.

Then it apparently took the tour of the SF Wharf, Alcatraz, etc, etc, etc, etc... all in and around SF until it finally shipped out to Australia today. (*(*&%(*^*(%&*^$%^&%^&$!!!!!

They should pay me for this kind of service.
