My intention was to buy it for Bowen, to replace the one he gave me, but then I saw that what he really wanted Justin's Turf Club, so I sent him that one instead.
I might give this MGL to my father or brother for Christmass, after I put an AbbaDatDeHat bash on it.

You are a force of nature when it comes to acquiring hats! The Borsalino blueberry is a favorite color, the Carlton is absolutely gorgeous, the Hückel has some nice large proportions, and all of them are perfect examples of what hats should be. I’ll confess to some envy. Very nice, Max.

Wow, Max. Quite another haul for you again. It's what we've come to expect a bit from you, but these are all lovely hats. I like the look of that Carlton hat especially. And the MGL looks the part of course. Mine came from the same shop actually; must have been a specialty of his. Congrats.

Sorry. Busy day. The hat is safe and sound and lounging in a recliner upstairs. Now that I have two to compare I have some observations. There are a few differences in the hats. The good thing is, it seems to be a big enough 7 1/8 that I should be able to make it work for me with a little coaxing. I'll try to update the Demon thread tomorrow.

That would do it. He’s the black hole of vintage 7 1/4 to 7 3/8 hats. Never before have I considered myself lucky to be 7 5/8 to 7 3/4.

Thanks, Bowen. I offered less than 1/3 of his asking price and he accepted! I really wasn’t expecting to get the hat. I’m not sure what I’ll do with it, but at the price I paid I can’t go wrong.
