Here is the Barclay cleaned up and shaped (in various lighting):

In this pic the top half of the picture is the original stitching of the sweatband and the bottom half was done by me with needle and thread. I think it came out good for my first time re sewing a sweatband:

Cleaned up very well IMO. Glad I pulled the trigger.
This one is a gem! That color combo with the light contrast certainly has my attention.

NICE TIP. From Brother Jeremy Garner. Again from the Hatco Outlet. Stetson Panama "Norwood." Looks like at least like what Stetson refers to as their "Grade" 8. Possibly one of their recent production "grade" 20's as many of their nicer current production Panamas are offered in this grade. The hat is no longer in production... more research is being done to find out the original retail price and actual grade. The brim was measured at 2 and 3/4 which is great and the crown is high enough, straight sided and boxy as well, which is even better. Guessing the original retail may be around $200 as a similar quality Panama Stetsonian is selling for almost $300. More of thsee recent model Stetson "Norwood's" are currently available at $49. Mine is being shipped Monday.

Really a very nice hat, Bob, and the price is certainly right. If I wasn't heading to Ecuador next Friday I'd call and order one myself!

Ask for Candy.
Damn glad you landed one Bob!! Definitely ask for Candy, Mike! She is an absolute doll to work with and extremely helpful. My Norwood ships Monday as well Bob! :) I ending up passing on the Homburg as I did not like the binding and ribbon color all that much. However I did end up buying a Premiere Open Crown Stratoliner in Cornhill for about $50 as well after shipping.

With a little luck maybe you will be able to get the real deal (Cuenca or MonteCristi) locally in Ecuador and straight from the source! You could skip all the middle men and come back with one from Ecuador :)

Offer accepted & am now waiting on a Resistol Stagecoach. The cheesy hatband will be the first thing trashed. I like black Western hats but wish this one wasn't black.

I'm wanting to try this Centerfire crease with the cross bars. If that doesn't work out or for some reason I don't like it I'll be getting with TJ because I like what he is able to do with these Stagecoaches.
