Plain toe bluchers are probably the most versatile shoes a man can own. If I truly wanted "modern" casual (khakis, nice denim, etc), I may opt for the dainite sole available on many such shoes. A nice plain toe blucher (with leather soles) can even be worn with a sportcoat. Many people look at shoes like this and think - plain, but in reality, the less ornamentation on a shoe, the dressier it is considered. The double (if not triple soles) on the shoes you linked do make them a bit more casual. I have 30+ pairs of shoes and my pair of shell cordovan PTB are my favorite and get the most compliments from ladies. I keep them well maintained and they just look like a man's shoe should look. A smart buy.

Grayland,my thoughts as well. I typically wear chinos/khakis, an Oxford shirt and my leather jacket. I thought these shoes would compliment the look.

I have been known to wear mine not only with khakis, but with jeans as well. As has already been stated, a very versatile shoe indeed.
