Patterson, the biggest problem with the wrong side of 40 is you pick up SPEED.... look out while I fly by:eek: lol

Wait a second. I thought that once you step over 40 you're on the right side of it. Well, at least that's my excuse ;) .

sweetfrancaise - aww. thanks. that necklace is probably one of my favorite pieces of jewelry...and it's just some four dollar plastic thing. lol i've already resolved to have it restrung and fitted with a more expensive clasp.

pennycarrol - wow. thanks! the purple just washed out by itself...it did that within a couple of weeks, unfortunately. i need to go back to see my hairdresser!

Woohoo! I love a man in uniform!

Say you like a "man in uniform" Well, what about a good all American Fire Fighter ...

Here I am with a thermal imaging camera checking for hot spots at a house fire we had a couple weeks ago.

And here in a group shot at a training fire (I'm the big guy on the right holding a 1 3/4 inch fire hose with one hand).

I knew there would be a cool/heat/fire response! lol

I can just make out that fog pattern...it's a mist cooling the group? Is there a larger version of this pic...I'd like to see more detail?

(I also assume that holding a 1 3/4 inch fire hose with one hand is no small feat.)

I PM'd you with what I think may be a larger picture.

Yes, the "fog" pattern is designed to keep most of the heat off the group. Most "normal guys" may find it difficult to hold a 1 3/4" fire hose with both hands, not to mention one.

In my younger days, I once made an attack while on a ladder into a second story window with a 2 1/2" (I used both hands on that one). It's a story that is still told at the Fire House. Of course I did a lot of really crazy things in my youth (at least I now consider them "crazy" after almost 30 years of hindsight).

You must have some great stories.

You're about a head taller than the next tallest guy. What's your height?

David

Most of the real stories I can't repeat in polite society. :D

I'm 6' 6" (and don't say you didn't know they stacked @#$% that high). :D
