i'm a student, in my third year of graphic design, specializing in illustration. i do work as an illustrator from time to time to make some extra cash, and i have had summer jobs as a cleaner, helper in a costume atelier (doing small sewing jobs for the seamstresses, ironing, organizing the toold and fabrics) and i worked at a post office.

I am a project coordinator (which means I do a lot of reports and stats) for a non-profit health insurance company.

I'm a staff editor at a large magazine company, on the contract publishing side. I do a huge amount of work for the Musicians' Union, plus my role requires me to research, edit and write about such disparate subjects as consumer goods, crafting, mobile phones, cycling, cinema, rambling, trade unions, computers, physiotherapy – you name it, I've likely tackled it. I wear many hats – figuratively and on a day-to-day basis!

I have taught English, Math, and Art for an Alternative Ed. high school for the past seventeen or so years. Alternative Ed. is another name for a school for kids who aren't really into that school thing. We have very few discipline problems and the kids are quite entertaining. As the lead teacher, my duties include handling transcripts, counseling, discipline and whatever else is needed as we do not have a principal on site. I am fortunate that I truly enjoy what I do!

Thats the one thing about being a teacher. It never gets boring. You are lucky not to have a principal seems with the all america blaming its ills on the education system the system has responded by micromanaging everything we do the last few years.

I am fortunate that my principal respects and trusts me to do what is correct. I am also fortunate to work with a wonderful group of people who are supportive of each other, are willing to do what needs to be done, and know how to laugh. And laugh a lot we all do, students included.
