A couple of fingers of Jack Daniels Single Barrel 134.2 Proof Whiskey. A coworker was kind enough to bring me a bottle from The Jack Daniels Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee. Good stuff!

What to choose? My wife and kids gifted me some birthday booze earlier this week. The old Strat will be my drinking hat.

Referring to my post in the Hat/Drink thread, I went with the OMD Ozark Dry Gin. Very nice both neat and with tonic. Although some of the botanicals these aging musicians were known to use might have crept into the distillation and affected some of my posts in other threads this evening.

I have not seen any of the 134.2 proof around here, but next time I'm up in TN I will look for some. I had a little of the 94 proof single barrel last night.

Supposedly, you cannot get anywhere other than the store at the Jack Daniels Distillery. It is pretty smooth and easy to drink.

My adventure into rums other than my staple for the last 45 years (Myers's Original Dark) was given a big push forward by my wife with this gift for my birthday earlier this week.

This is a super-nice sipping rum. Not sure I could bring myself to mix it with anything.

American Oak is one of the best woods to mature Rum in imho. True 18 years aging, no „Solera“-rubbish. Sounds quite excellent and I’m sure it tastes even better!

Another new-to-me gin ... neat, followed by one with tonic. I want to describe it as "bright" -- dominated by citrus (which was good as I was out of limes) ... almost sweet.
