Ain't that the truth. I was watching David Attenborough on TV. He was reminiscing about Madagascar 50 years ago, he described fifty years as: The day before yesterday. So true.

Last night the Missus finished off the Riesling left over from Easter dinner which we hosted, and I went with the dependable standby of a whiskey sour.

2 fingers of Bourbon, Fresh lemon juice, here's a neat trick, place a whole lemon in the microwave for 20 seconds, remove, halve & squeeze, you get twice the juice. 1⁄2 floz maple syrup, you can use cane sugar syrup if you prefer, & an egg white, garnish it with Angostura bitters. Beware, it is very, very moorish.

It's been unusually warm the past week or so in Baltimore, so I finally figured it was time to make blue Hawaiians for the lady and I. I forgot how good they were; I'm more of a mojito guy.

They are good! And dangerous and too easy to drink as well.

Friends came over last night & used a bottle of my Bourbon to make "Summer Manhattans". They brought 2 kinds of liqueurs (Lillet & a peach), bitters & some lemon zest. I drank one then went to straight pours while they continued to make their Manhattans.
