Visited the beer cave to see if they had anything different. This Whiskey Barrel Brew is flavorful and smooth. Hard to believe it is 12% abv. It is an amber lager with a clean finish and definite whiskey notes in flavor and aroma. Got to get some more while they still have it.

Mock me all you want, but it was 90+degrees, 10billion degrees of humidity yesterday, so we had several of these - very cold - in the late afternoon:



I like the low alcohol content and not sweet taste that feels a bit like a beer married to a fruity white wine.

I continue to find ways to go down market with my wine drinking lately having discovered boxed wine. It is a wonderful invention, no bottles to recycle, I can keep the box on the counter always at the ready and it can sit for amonth without oxidizing. I am currently working on a box of Malbec which is a decent wine, a good thing as I have 5 litres of the stuff in the box. The best deal when I am in the USA is the Costco Kirkland brand of box wine especially when on coupon. Last time paid about $11 for 3 litres of a Cali CabSauv.
