Actually Walmart.
I wasn't sure if Kroger had it, so I picked mine up when I saw it at Walmart this morning.
Then I went to Kroger, and saw they had it too.
Walmart also had a 6 pack of the Lazy Magnolia Pecan beer.
Who know Sam was so diverse? :D

It would seem you have a wide variety of beer choice. The Ontario government beer store says they offer 400 brands from over 100 brewers. Of course you cannot get 400 types at any single store, but they offer a website which can lead you to a specific store.

I am certain as well that your price points are going to be significantly better. As an example 24 cans of Coors Light Beer will run you $41.00 here.

Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

I can usually grab a case of Coors down here for around $16, and that's with the state of Alabama's higher than average alcohol taxes.

How much do premium beers cost up there?

I wouldn't pay $41 dollars for Coors.
Heck, I wouldn't pay $16. :D

To answer your question Duper, yes and no.
Kroger has a large assortment, and so does Walmart.
But many of them could be awful beer, who's to say?
I usually consult this site for reviews, and then make up my own mind.
It had the top 250, or you can click on beer styles and it opens up another set of categories.
Once you get into the categories, you can choose the style you like, and they will show you the brands in that style, along with reviews.

Duper,

We might pay $42 for 24 beers, but these would be 24 individual premium beers of our selection in the build-it-yourself-6-pack options. Many of our better beer sources have begun offering this sales option at a slightly higher price since tossing half a bottle of bad beer is better than 5 1/2 bottles, so people are more willing to take a smaller risk. They get use to try a wider variety and a better price while we get to sample a lot of beers and treat them like wines in that we can pair them with various foods or situations. Everyone wins with this program.

Yes, there are some super premium beers which are a bit more costly and not included, but these are fairly few and unusual.

Maybe, this radical build-it-yourself-6-pack concept can be brought to y'all someday.

Busch Light is a discount beer here and is on $34.95 for 24 cans. 24 bottles of Grolsch, imported from Holland would run me $77.10. We can buy singles of beer at $2.00+ a beer.

A side story. About 20 years ago I was in Washington DC for a week long course. I left my hotel and walked to a nearby convienience store to get an evening snack. I opened the refrigerator door to grab a quart of milk and right beside the milk was a 6 pack of beer. The 6 beer were cheaper than the quart of milk. Now I had a quandry. I think I left with both. In every life you have to compromise some. ;)

One word:

Homebrew

At the prices you are paying, your equipment investment would be paid off before the Spring thaw.
