The Singapore Sling. A friend turned me on to them, and they are deeeeee-lish!

1/2 oz grenadine syrup
1 oz gin
sweet and sour mix
club soda
1/2 oz cherry brandy

Pour grenadine into the bottom of a collins glass, and fill with ice. Add gin, and almost-fill with equal parts of sweet and sour and chilled soda. Top with cherry brandy, and serve unstirred, garnished with a cherry.

Speaking of rum and coke (my favourite non-cocktail), a great variation is Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum mixed with A&W root beer. It has a vanilla taste to it, yum!

The same as always...Bellaruche 2008 Syrah. I like the idea they are self sufficient, with their own water source, power source, etc. Of course the wine isn't bad either, and at $18 a bottle it's not too terribly expensive.
I used to drink mixed drinks years ago, then it got to be just vodka and ice, or 151 and a little coke.
After 10 years hiatus, wine is better for me anyway....

I mixed up an experiment with two ounces of ginger liqueur, one ounce of rye vodka and a dash of orange bitters. Spicy.
