Ah, I apologize for the double post, my computer glitched and didn't show the post so I re-posted. And I only sampled a small bit...really

8-10 oz caster sugar, you can add more if you like it really sweet and more alcoholic
About 1lb of sloes washed and the skins pricked with a needle or fork.
1 3/4 bottle of gin. (I use Gordons but cheapy gin works just as well).
Put all the ingredients in steriiised bottles or jars. Shake well and store in a dry, dark cupboard for at lest 2 months. I shake my bottles every day for a week, then once a week for the two months. I do find leaving it longer is preferable if you can stand it! A dash of vanilla essence is optional .
