If I am drinking regular or diet sodas I usually mix in some cold water to make it less sweet and and lower the fizz level a bit. Same with many fruit juices, straight is too sweet.

I add seltzer to a lot of juices, and generally add some lime juice too. I can't imagine adding regular water to soda. That, to me, is ruining it, it is like when the ice melts. I might try adding seltzer though. If anything, most sodas are not fizzy enough.

It's a fairly long list, and it was quite an early start........!

Moet.
Large Tanqueray Ten & tonic.
Another, large Tanqueray Ten & tonic.
"Goodness Gracious" (Plymouth Gin, Aperol, Grand Marnier, grapefruit juice, fresh apple)
"Candy Martini" (Tanqueray Ten, Dry Vermouth, flamed sugar cube)
"Bramble" (Plymouth Gin, Creme de Mure, lemon juice, sugar syrup)
"Dry Martini" (Berry's No. 3 gin - from the freezer, splash of dry vermouth, lemon rind juice)

......and then the memory starts to go, a bit!
