Hi Bruce

Black and white is the more conservative approach and will always look great with just about any color except brown in my humble opinion.

Purchase what feels right for you and looks great with your current wardrobe... Keep in mind that " True style never goes out of style".

Looking forward to seeing your decision.

Regards

Bruce, with all the options for picking colors of leather for the webgems, why not go with gold on the toe area and on the backs, and white everyplace else? The gold color can work with many colors of clothing from black trousers to blue or brown, which about covers what pants you would wear. I make mention of this suggestion as my Husband has one pair of shoes that are what would be called "tuxedo pumps" but they are a low vamp loafer, the color is close to the gold leather, he uses a gold cream paste on them for polish. They actually look really sharp when worn with any pants/suits he owns. I think it is due to the color being maybe a neutral, not too dark or too light, so it does not look bad with any other color and has some contrast.

Relative to the social environment that is.

Believe me if I wanted to be conservative I wouldn't be wearing spectators.

Fair point of view from just about all of the road.

The only social circles overlapping mine where ´spectators´ are a conventional choice are golf and tango.
Conventional not being the same as conservative ofcourse. Conservative doesn´t do tango I suppose and I am not sure if they are the conservative choice for golf. In Europe I doubt that.

Don't like white bucks! You blaspheme sir! haha
Mine were customs that someone else had made and decided that they didn't want that came into my store. Walnut and blue. I find them to be a pleasant combination. They are just my most recent addition to my ever growing Allen Edmonds shoes. I would recommend the walnut and white "Hamptons" as they are a 90th anniversary re release of one of their original shoes from 1922.

Honestly, I would get both, and then I would get every shoe that I have seen posted on this thread. They are all beautiful. I just picked up some cordovan oxfords by Florsheim today.
