Wow, I'm curious to know if you have documented it in any way to the WWI era? I have a Dunhill with the Vernon fitting & stinger patented in 1931 & discontinued ~1941.Navy flake in a WWI-vintage Dunhill (not sure if this is a "family" pipe or an "estate" pipe: it originally belonged to the father of my great-uncle's third wife, but I bought it at the estate sale).
The Ol' Man told me some Brit gave it to him at Belleau Wood; knowing him he probably won it shooting craps. The gentleman I spoke with at Dunhill back in '03 told me the white dot on the stem post-dated 1915, the stamp ("DUNHILL" over "DUKE ST SW") dated it prior to 1918.Wow, I'm curious to know if you have documented it in any way to the WWI era?
