I know this is probably the wrong forum to ask in but I figured there would be more people with B3s and ANJ4s here than on any of the other sub forums.

Looking for ideas and suggestions on bags (preferably two shoulder strap backpacks/maybe even duffels that could be work on both shoulders) that would work nicely style wise with an ANJ4 or B3 (and some dark denim or earth coloured chinos perhaps.

Interested in all bag materials.

Personally, I always find leather bags/backpacks in combination with leather jackets a bit “too much”.
That's why I use more modern bags or ones made from canvas.
This is one from Chromeindustries, the Kadet model. I also have it as the Kadet Max. Enough to carry my notebook, accessories and small stuff.

I use m1945 fieldpack repro but I cut the closing strap and installed snap clasp in between so I don't need to use the traditional clasp to access the bag, I just waiting for it to fade a little to look softer Screenshot_20241110_123151_Gallery.jpg
Im waiting it would fade like that canteen cover i bought in 1991 that was also od green.. i dont know how the color fade like that, nylon fade is awesome

I have a Dickies cordura canvas rucksack that I use as my rucksack whatever jacket I'm wearing.

I selected it by thinking about the style of bag I liked, finding one like that and then buying it. It goes with some of my jackets better than others, but if I cared about that I could buy another different bag.

I’d go with a messengers style bag. I can’t imagine trying to take a backpack on and off with one of the heavier sheepskin jackets.

Simple tool waxed webbing backpack (I will wax it).

And, like @Bfd70 the thought of getting both shoulders dislocated to wear it is ...nah. So, worn for shorter periods with a single strap over (in my case) right shoulder, this simple...

This looks like a great everyday solution tbh. I might even get one for myself, for no real reason.

also in my Amazon basket (for no reason as well ;_)

tbh I had one of the plain square ones when I was at collage in the 80s (painted the flap with gloss white paint as a reflector) so they have a place in my heart.

A bit of custom work with snaps on the daypack will make them much more secure (even for a bottle of water etc.)

a Prime Sunday to you chaps

Defy makes awesome messenger bags and slings. Many out of Horween too. They are indestructible and waaaaay overbuilt. Perfect imo.

And they are based in Chicago.
