No doubt: the new revamped IRVIN pre-war in russet.

Looking forward to receive my just ordered pre-war russet reworked Irvin , all metalwork in silver...
Looks 100% like the original I own.

How's that TB working for you, Worf? Is it easier to live with than the Irvin or D1?

Well I'm not wearing it now... it's 90 Degrees outside! LOL but last winter it was my fave black jacket during the winter. Far move comfortable than my Irvin and way less fragile than my D1, plus you could wear it in a cold rain without worry. I love that jacket. I'll get a chance this fall to wear my new "button up" aeros, I'll let you know if the pecking order changes any.

Mine changes reasonably regularly.
At this stage I'm a week or two away from receiving a Hercules, the one with the cord detail and 2 way pockets. I wanted a heavy duty foul weather jacket.
Next up is the Teamster, if my turn came up in spring instead of winter I would have ordered this first.
I've had sexy eyes for a J106 since forever, in brown.
Finally, ANJ-4, perhaps on the lighter D1 shearling to get more use in my climate...to be fair, I could own several and still feel the need for more.

The Montgomery has always looked kind of atrophied to me. It reminds me of the weird title of Ronald Reagan's autobiography "Where's the Rest of Me?"

I've always liked the Longshoreman for myself …
But then I saw the modified Bootlegger in Capt. America … I'd like that too!
If it was a case of having to pick one of the two, I think it'd be the modified Bootlegger (as I'm kitted out for sheepskin jackets). It's just so right in every way.

I'm thinking about the Herc but I can't justify it really as it's never cold enough here. Maybe in a light HH and cotton drill lining. No pocket flaps. Hate them. Really I'm looking for an Aero version of this Sears (minus the belt) as worn by Clooney in a forgettable movie, Leatherheads.

Strangely enough I've been eyeing these as well now I've culled my collection a bit. What did you go for? FQHH? Colour etc?

Simonc's one posted over at:

I swear it's calling to me at night. I know I'd only get about 2 months wear a year out of it but damn, it's a great looking jacket. Maybe the Melton wool would be a better option than the shearling though...

I went for darkest available brown fqhh. I've also added a 3 panel back peice a la Rockefella. I dislike the plain one peice backs on these jackets. It came out of left field for me. It was about 4-5 on my list. Then it just leapfrogged all of them after a few very chilly nights here. I'm really looking forward to it.

That looks cool. It would wear well in a goat or mid weight horse,

Which lining did you go for?

I stayed with brown alpaca. I wanted to sew a tartan over the alpaca, but they don't do it anymore. I flirted with some tweed. I need it as a heavy winter jacket, so I needed something like alpaca etc. it was posted yesterday from Aero. I'm looking forward to it.

Wool over alpaca? That would be way warm. I think the old itchy alpaca issue has gone.

My favorites are the Sheene for its classic simplicity and the Thunder Bay for its warmth and non cluttered design. Now that I look at them side by side, the design is the same except for the cold weather accouterments on the TB.
