I still hope to find a cross zip I like and don't end up selling for some reason that seems silly in hindsight, maybe a vintage Vanson Model E if I can find one like @AbbaDatDeHat's (very doubtful). Other than this, no jackets for me this year I think, I spent too much on them last year.
Hey Dub: i’ll keep you in mind. It’s a 44 so you know.

OMG..already?...really? Noooooo. I might have to put together an intervention if I can find a half dozen members who are off the drug. So far I only have one: Seb Lucas.

And me, just awaiting my goatskin Monarch replica coat from Dave in this combination, then I’m done.

If the fit is good, I'm considering getting this one offered by Orvis and made by a company called Lone Pine. I was there in NYC the other day and tried it on and the 40 is a bit too large, so am waiting for them to get in a 38. I had bought a size 40 a couple of years ago, wore it outside a few times (never removed the tags) just to check warmth on some frigid days in NJ and it was the lightest, most comfortable coat I ever wore. BTW is was the warmest coat too - except for my heavy down parka and my shearling B3. Returned it (tags still on) when I hit a little bit of murky financial times.

After this, I think I'm done with coats for a looooooong time, as I have way too many and find myself wearing only a handful in any given season and the others - though very nice remain covered up on hangers. Soooooo, my plan is - (of course after this next one;););)) to sell the others (along with sweaters and vests) and be done with with it; just have a "core" group of jackets/coats/sweaters and call it a day.

Seeing Ton's thread about his amazing and new to him, Buzz Rickson, I started checking out their leather. I found this Coast Guard coat, which is nice to look at. If I buy one, my wife will cut my head off so maybe this can go in my 2020 aspirations thread.

Look at this thing!

Doh man that is awesome. I actually prefer the single breasted style. I knew Buzz would be good stuff. I did not anticipate it being THAT good but I was pleasantly surprised. Do it man. Sell something else off. Such great coats. Hide all sharp utensils!!

Find it interesting how resolutions are about limiting jacket purchases... shouldn't be the other way around? :)

There are still so many styles, colours, hides to play with... and this is the tip of the iceberg :D

I resisted buying a brand new midnight blue teamster for all of last year.
One of these days, maybe.

The truth is I have 7 great leather jackets right now and I actually do use all of them....some more than others. No doubt I could make do with less than that. Having said that, I keep looking for a black LW Suburban on the bay and here in the classifieds. Oh, and l’d fall for a LW black Downtown in my size like the one I sold that was too big. Considering I have one in brown already that really seems silly.

I blame the FL effect!

Different colours are a given here :)

Lets see if you still feel that way when your wardrobe is full of leather jackets and you have to start storing them throughout your flat. My couch is currently home to 10 homeless leather jackets, and i have 3 more on the way.

I used to think @tmitchell59 and @Mysteryo were madmen, but the struggle is real...

I guess I am still a lightweight with barely over 10 jackets to my name at the moment :)

I have a Denim and Horse LW J-23 being worked up. Not rushing Stuart though as there are a lot of things being worked up and he can take as long as he likes.

That should be really cool!
Which colour is the horse-hide?
And which parts are denim and which ones horse?

I had to make a temporary rack in my warehouse after I ran out of closet space. This rack is for jackets I think of selling...
