Plugging away on the my nonfiction book, Nebraska during WW2. It's really, really hard to work a full-time job and write a book on the side when you have to deal with chronic illness. I need an anonymous benefactor to pay me a lot of money just to stay home and work on my research! :D:D:D:D

At the moment, I am stalled... two chapters into a WWII adventure yarn. Chapter one was battle of Britain. Chapter two a flashback to the Spanish Civil War. Lots of bravery, romance, skullduggery, and cameos by famous people of the era.
Sigh. Don't know why I have stalled. So it goes. Or doesn't.

Finishing up the script for our next live radio show, coming December 8th. This one features newsreel segments dealing with overprotective parents in wintertime, the loss of the Olde Fashioned Maine Winter, the death of the traditional school Snow Day, and a slick character selling overpriced high-end anodized aluminum drinking straws as an ideal Christmas Gift. The featured comedy sketch finds Santa Claus threatened with a buyout from a bald-headed billionaire technocrat who runs an international internet shopping behemoth -- until he visits the little town of Abysmal Point and finds out there's some things billionaires can't buy.

We'll also be doing an unscripted quiz segment which bears no resemblance whatsoever to "You Bet Your Life." Honestly, it doesn't.

Figured I'd re-up this thread!

My book, WWII Nebraska, will be published this year. Release date is October 2020. It was supposed to be in April, then got pushed to June, then got pushed back again to October due to the pandemic.

If you're interested, you can pre-order it here: https://www.amazon.com/World-War-II...a+Amateis&s=books&sr=1-1&text=Melissa+Amateis

I am currently writing my novel set in 1942 Lincoln, Nebraska, and is about an FBI agent, a beautiful bookseller, and their quest to bring a German spy to justice.

What all are you working on?

I guess I never contributed what I'm working on for this. I'm a magazine writer, so I'm constantly writing, but I also started work on a book that has come along quite a ways at this point. It's called The Secret of the Moai and it's set in the South Pacific in the early 1930s. It's adventure meets espionage meets pseudoarchaeology meets science fiction. The main characters are inspired by some folks who disappeared in the 1927 Dole Air Race.

Interestingly, the only way I can make progress is to work on my typewriter. The computer is just too distracting.

Wow. That synopsis hits all my buttons. Let me know if you need someone to give it a first read. I myself have a fully completed murder mystery set in Hawai’i, ready to go. Also involves espionage, history, archaeology, Etc. I am Waiting to leave my current employment before self-publishing it. (I had such a good experience with a previous self-published project that the usual rejection slip route seems silly and outdated.) Anyway, your project sounds intriguing. Best of luck to you.

I cannot say I have written anything professionally. I used to blog to get my spiritual experiences better understood in my mind while simultaneously researching information that could help me understand. Once that was done though, I took the blog down and handwrote into a journal.

Now I have been spending time compiling various facets of my healing information together. Such as - astrological and Chinese Meridian, and it's been interesting to actually see how things have been connecting for me. This is all off-line though, in Word, for myself as a foundation for my healing work.

Writing is such a wonderful way to document our lives, and to make sense of the world. It never needs to be seen by eyes other than our own. I journal, and have for more than 20 years.

Just finished the second draft script for our October "Strand On The Air" radio show -- had to make revisions in a couple of the bits because of the CDC recommendation against trick-or-treat. Writing topical comedy is hard under any circumstances, but writing it a month in advance is maddening.
Lizzie, I could see you writing a 1930s comedy/mystery series featuring an acid-tongued sleuth. I would so read that.
