I just finished listening to Lux Theater - The Egg And I With Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray. Something easy to listen to while I drink coffee and glance at the newspaper

A bit primitive, but I think that this talkie (taken on November 21, 1928) is a pretty remarkable survivor. Note, too the early shawl collared dinner jacket on Mr. Scott.

Here is another musically interesting bit of Americana, Whistler's Jug Band (Victor recording artists) taken May 25, 1930 in Lousiville, KY

Fore something more commercial, the Ben Bernie Orchestra reprises for DeForest Phonofilm their hit Brunswick recording of Sweet Georgia Brown. The sound-on-film recirding is an (admittedly imperfect) electrical process. the drummer is much more prominent in this version than on the commercial record.

This film clip also includes what is believed to be the earliest jazz zolo caputured on film, a hot chorus by saxophonist Jack Pettis.
