Richard Himber and his Orchestra -- I Know Why (And So Do You) (1941)

Why do robins sing in December?
Long before the springtime is due
And even though it's snowing, violets are growing
I know why and so do you

Why do breezes sigh every evening?
Whispering your name as they do
And why do I have the feeling stars are on my ceiling?
I know why and so do you

When you smile at me
I hear gypsy violins
When you dance with me
I'm in heaven when the music begins

I can see the sun when it's raining
Hiding every cloud from my view
And why do I see rainbows when you're in my arms?
I know why and so do you

Marika Rökk and Conny Froboess -- Honky Tonky Tom (1961)
Of Hungarian origin, Marika Rökk (1913-2004) was big star in Germany in the 1930s and 40s. Conny Froboess (born 1943) was a German teen idol of the '50s and '60s.

From Alaska to Nebraska
Everybody knows Honky Tonky Tom
I suppose all the ladies
Love Honky Tonky Tom
The songs play over and over
From the dear and happy
Do you know Honky Tonky Tom?

Because if you sound so happy
Then all the girls will hear you
And because everybody has a song in their heart
Everyone has a rendezvouz

From Alaska to Nebraska
Everybody knows Honky Tonky Tom
I suppose all the ladies
Love Honky Tonky Tom
The songs play over and over
From the dear and happy
Do you know Honky Tonky Tom?
