Wonderful lyrics: "En är för liten och en är för stor/Ingen kan tro att han är min bror" (One is too big and one is too small/No one would believe he's my brother) I have absolutely no idea what it's about! :D

More Swedish:

One of the most popular Swedish songs of the period was The Match Parade (Tändsticksparaden) written in 1930 by Swedish bandleader and composer Karl Wehle. It was recorded by numerous bands including an English version by Jack Hylton. This one's by Harry Bidgood and his Orchestra.

I also seem to think that this song might have even been in an episode of M*A*S*H* where Hawkeye meets and falls in love with a Swedish surgeon, played by Mariette Hartley, who's part of a visiting Red Cross delegation. There's a scene in the episode where they're listening and dancing to an old Swedish record and the tune sounds vaguely familiar to me.

Remember this one very well when I was a kid. Must have heard it hundreds of times with my parents as a kid.

Donald O'Connor -- I Could Love A Million Girls
originally written in 1905

I've heard men say so often
They could love their wives alone
But I think such foolish men
Must have hearts made of stone
Now my heart is made of softer stuff
It melts at each one glance
A pretty girl can't look my way
Without a new romance

I could love a million girls
With every girl a twin
I could love a Chinese girl
An Eskimo, a Finn
I could love a German girl
A girl with golden curls
In fact I think that I could love
About a million girls

He could love a million girls
A million girls could he
I could love a native girl
From far across the sea
He could love a redhead girl
A girl with raven curls
In fact I think that I could love
About a million girls

I loved a girl whose eyes shone forth
Just like a crystal mass
I loved her till I found out that
Her eye was made of glass
I loved a girl whose form it was
A gorgeous thing to see
I loved her till I found out that
Part of it was a tree

On sunday mornings when I was young, Soul Train would come on one of the 5 channels we could get with our rabbit ears. And if a group like The Spinners came on, I would try my best to imitate their synced moves and invariably fail. But they looked so cool I had to try myself. It was great fun.

Years ago I went to a taping of Diffren't Strokes and evidentally Soul Train was taped in the same studio because hanging above the Diffren't Strokes set was the Soul Train sign. lol
