For a German recording of the period this one really swings. It sounds almost like a comparable American or British Big Band as opposed to the more distinctive "German swing" sound.

I am listening to one of my favourite songs of the accoustical era.

This is the first time I've heard it sung in its entirety. The whole song plays out like an old-time silent movie. Here are the original lyrics as sung by Murray and the Quartet, back in 1909:
