I LOVE Paul Whiteman and I'm crazy about Deep Purple

The song Deep Purple was still playing on the local radios stations when I was a young child in the early 1950's, it was a hit yet then and is considered one of the greatest songs of all times, and for it to have lasted from the days it was first recorded speaks volumes for it's being a master song.

I have a friend, that collects old records that are in mint condition, he has perhaps over 30,000 records and most of them are the 78's and from a time period prior to 1950. He finds it rewarding to have every single record that some of the great "big bands" produced, the Glen Millers and Tommy Dorsey era and even the other artist from that time era. He is so involved with collecting those records and has them stacked in every single room of his home, you have to "walk a path" through them. His collection is priceless. He has them sort of organized by style of music, has some stacks that are "America oriented" (marching band type music by John P. Sousa) and theme music regarding this Nation, (National anthem) to what would be called early blues, gospel, jazz and swing. I have no clue how he recalls where everything is at, but he does.

In his garage, he has a train collection of old Lionel trains and such.
