"De-Lovely" is a really "lovely" movie. A nostalgic trip into the past, with great music and great performance. Just to warn you that my husband does not like it. He was a little boring.

Jimmie Grier - one of Hollywood's favorites

Happy was I to find this link to an entire out of print Lp of 1935-'36 ET material by Jimmie's fat, sassy, sunny-sounding band. They played every Oscar night (and every other night) at the L.A. Biltmore and were the choice for many stars' parties as well as record dates.

In 1941, when Rudy Vallée stepped into uniform as leader of the Coast Guard entertainment troupe, Jimmie was appointed his Chief Musician, and took over from Rudy as CO in 1944.
