My sister played the clarinet in high school. At home she would practice. It looked easy,
so I asked her if I could play a tune.
She laughed and bet me I couldn’t even produce one note.
I took the challenge!
I did produce a sound...but it was not coming from the horn.
Artie Shaw had some powerful lungs/talent to make it look so easy.

I went to the music shop and rented a trumpet with the option to buy as I progressed.
In about a week I had blisters on my lips.

Blisters on the lip!!! That sounds painful!! I wanted to play trumpet too. But, my dad loved Boots Randolph so he suggested I play the sax. He was right I enjoyed the sax but never became Boots Randolph.Herb Alpert was on the charts, very popular.
