Never! I remember staying up to midnight on New Years Eve 1974 for the top 100 countdown from some music chart (I don't think it was Billboard) and was shocked and saddened to hear that this song topped the chart for that year.

One thing is to catch this *tune* when I go on my weekend-back-country road trips
in my 1939 Ford with deluxe custom stereo built inside the glove compartment.

I can change the stations or play my own CDs.

But to have a chick next to me singing along and tells me I have a choice of the song
and her or go it alone...

All I can say is... I hoped I gave her enough $$$ for the taxi.
I rolled the window up so I can't really say what she was yelling.
I liked to think it was something like...
"Thank You for the cab fare jake darling!"
