This morning I played a lovely Royal Blue pressing of the 1929 Whiteman recording of the Gershwin Concerto in F, Roy Bargy as Piano Soloist.

That's a gorgeous record, both the recording and the physical artifact.
It is, and I think myself so very lucky to have it.

Even luckier, though this week. I was sorting through a truckload of 78 album sets, most of which were post-war junk and found the correct 1929 vintage Columbia album for the Concerto In F set, with of course two of those bright red Silvertone 12" discs with the silver labels. Makes up a nuce set, now.
