Just curious. Don't know much about Waits..but have been listen to his early songs. What happened to his voice..?

I don't know enough about him to give you an answer, but his voice certainly changed. I do know he became more and more experimental as his music career progressed...very unusual instrumentation (even a wagon wheel steel hoop as a percussion instrument), use of a bullhorn, etc. He's an interesting character.
