I'm in the mood for some techno (Golden Era style)

Shine On Harvest Moon played on 1918 Wurlitzer CX Orchestrion

Even though only few people seem to know, it was Louis Prima who wrote one of Benny Goodman's most successful tunes ever:

Sing, Sing Sing (With A Swing):

I was always fascinated by those old pianorchestra and orchestrion machines, many of which were made in Germany. At one time they provided music for restaurants, theatres, dance halls and saloons. What's really funny is how the beginning of Shine On Harvest Moon sounds almost like something played on a modern synthesizer. I've even heard Beatles songs played on these machines.

I never listen to modern music anymore, but while I was unpacking, I found Jewel's tape (yes, it's been that long lol) and popped it in. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think she was pretty good....

Rue, From what little of current music I've been subjected to it's not worth listening to, in my opinion anyway. The worst is when you're stuck with it when being put on hold. Jewel? Isn't she from the 80's or early 90's? HadleyH, I like some music from the 50's and early 60's in small doses. Pretty Little Angel Eyes is a good one!

I agree! Yes, she was, but as far as new stuff goes, I don't think she's too awful [huh]
