One Too Many
Abney Park - Airship Pirate

Seriously fun stuff here! Accidentally stumbled across these guys this morning whilst tooling around on Brass Goggles. I'm diggin' it... sort of remind me of bands like Collide and Ego Likeness, even though there really isn't all that much of a resemblance in sound.

Airship Pirate sounds up my alley. Is it hardcore steampunk or new-wave steampunk? Or are such rubrics even have any meaning?

Now playing on the meatbox: Milenberg Joys, Casa Loma Ork, 1934.

You jitterbug-crazy youth should acquaint yourselves with this band, which was playing out-and-out Swing Era riff instrumentals very early in the decade, shortly after Fletcher Henderson started the style.
If you're not put off by a bit of grotesquerie, like growl clarinet or an occasional banjo or slapped bass rhythm, you will find the CLO danceable and enjoyable.
