"We had a sheepdog named Fruney"
Can I call you Fruney?
Always enjoyed Warren's playing & now with the Mule I really enjoy their ability to cover songs often just as good if not better than the original. An example of a fav:I`m a big fan of live music and enjoyed the vids, made a change from the Joe Bonamassa version (vid 2)
I enjoyed his live cover of the Van Morrison song Into the Mystic, along with Derek Trucks in 2011Always enjoyed Warren's playing & now with the Mule I really enjoy their ability to cover songs often just as good if not better than the original. An example of a fav:

When you posted these two vids I was actually sitting listening to Susan Tedeschi taking on the old Joe Cocker hit Bird on a Wire. I think she does a good job of it. Time for a little womens equality here lol
That was a young Francis Rossi, Jimmy Savile there as well, looked like Top of the Pops back in the day.
I`ve heard a lot of Hallelujah covers that were very good indeed but not so many Marianne covers. This one was quite different from the original. Can`t recall Straitjackets I`ll have to look them up when I get a chance. I think that Marianne was a girl/woman from Norway not far from where I`m now living.Back in the late ‘70s through the ‘80s and into the early ‘90s when I left, the New Zealand scene was really interesting. The pop bands couldn’t get play due to the commercial radio stations playing sure things from overseas
But the record label Flying Nun ensured the alternative scene flourished. I’ve been listening toone ofmy all time favourite from that era - Straitjacket Fits - to and from work for the last few days…
Nobody (John Cale came close) has ever covered Leonard Cohen as well…
