Since she wrote it too I've wondered how much money she has made just from this song.

She actually wrote it when she was with the Great Society, her first husband Jerry Slick's band. And she wrote Somebody to Love (originally titled Someone to Love) with Jerry Slick's younger brother (forget his first name). When she was asked to join JA & left she took those two songs with her, & the Great Society fell apart.
